Hi there!  This is Rob Mitchell, founder and CTO of P3iSystems.

One of the reasons I started this company is that I see a lot of Small-to-Medium businesses that may be thriving in many ways, but are letting their technology slide.  It's a truism that technology can't drive your business - your vision, your passion, and your business model do that.  Technology can help you systematize what you do, replicate your efforts, and make you more consistent and faster in your execution, enabling you to grow your business at a greater rate than you would be able to otherwise.

One of the reasons many entrepreneurs started small businesses was to get away from the bureaucracy and artificiality that dominate big businesses, what has been called "The Dilbert Space."  That's a great thing to get away from, but not everything done in large enterprises is bad.  Big companies often do strategic thinking really well, and this is one of the Enterprise-class technology services that is sorely needed in small business.

Although I have a technology background, you may not be surprised to find out that I see my primary role as that of educator for small business.  I won't pretend to know your business model better than you do - you are way ahead of me on that and a host of other things about running your business.  But I will be able to recognize some patterns in your business processes and I just might be able to point you in the direction of some really good resources that may not have occurred to you.

This post is a bit fluffly and meatless, I know.  But watch this space and we'll be getting down to some really practical nuts and bolts as time goes on.
